An iPod is an MP3 storage and playback device, which does not allow you to store or play back MP3s. Instead it forces you to use Apple's own software iTunes to put music onto the device, which is widely regarded as communism. Apple seems to stop users exercising their rights of fair use largely just for the lulz.
